I did not have a chance to write here for a couple of weeks - well, I in the middle of a thousand different things to do I also had a very nice honeymoon :-)
Anyways, back to Frucall, I'm glad to let you know that we will be rolling out Yahoo! integration this week. This means that Frucall users will get pricing information from both Yahoo! Shopping and Amazon. And, as you can imagine, there is more to come.
I will write more about it once the release is out in production. For now, I'm glad to be back, and can't wait to give you more updates on our progress!
We recently introduced "Reminders" as a part of our "Extra" services. Yet another cool free little service, Reminders let the users set a date/time and a message inside Frucall web portal, and Frucall will send that message at the specified date/time to them via SMS.
Reminders are the basis of another comparison shopping feature that we are playing with, and that is Price Watchdogs. With Price Alerts, the user can set a price he or she wishes to pay for an item. We will watch the prices on the item, and once we find a store that offers the item at or below the specified price, we'll reminder the user by sending an SMS.
Speaking of stores, I should say that our work on interfacing with Yahoo Shopping is almost complete, and we will launch the new interface in May. With this we not only search Amazon, but we also use Yahoo shopping to get price comparison from a number of different merchants and provide the user with more choices.
Anyhow, these little SMS services are sort of my hobby within Frucall, and I am looking for cool ideas. If you have something in mind, or there's something that you wish you could get on your cell phone but you can't right now, drop me a line. We might be able to do it for you!
